"On My Way" Program

The "On My Way" program was designed for secondary school aged boys (Yrs 8-12, Ages 12-17). The program commenced at the Roebourne High School in Term 3 of 2006.

Objectives of the Program

The objectives of the program are to:

  • Increase school attendance and participation
  • Decrease participants’ contact with the Justice System
  • Encourage re-engagement with education
  • Provide mentoring and strong role models both by the Foundation and within the community
  • Increase leadership skills
  • Increase self esteem
  • Decrease drug and alcohol abuse
  • Promote healthy life choices through access to information provided about good nutrition, diet and exercise
  • Identify talent for support into upper secondary schools and tertiary education in Perth

The program is rewards based, with students receiving rewards for each week they attend school and are not in trouble with the Police.

The "On My Way" program has recently been extended to include boys and girls at Roebourne, Onslow and Tom Price Schools.
